"Life is like an ice cream. Enjoy before it melts!"
Hi ! My name is Madhavi. I live in Edison with my husband Srikanta and 2 boys Sidhartha and Samartha and am an SME in Healthcare IT. I have always been associated with sports and been a sprinter, long and high jumper during my school years. The thrill of taking off from the blocks at the start line and the joy of meeting the tape head first is something I lived for through my school and undergrad years. As I slowly weaned off sprinting, I turned to badminton and basketball (any short stops here ?) in graduate school alongside pool/snooker. Personally, it helped very much that my parents were active sportspersons where my dad donned his cricket whites every winter.
My mom is still an avid walker, twice a day every day. Needless to say, I grew up with inspirational figure heads at home with mottos of service to mankind is service to God. This lent itself to my home now where my boys are avid soccer players since Pre K and we are consummate soccer parents which has brought us enormous joy over the years. My takeaway is that do lend your time to your children’s sporting activities from a young age, it keeps the whole house active. And it makes running long distances a breeze as the cross training is so important for cardio vascular buildup in an athlete.
As for other things- I love music, organizing, making new friends, learning new things over YouTube (thank you Corona!) and being the social animal. Lately, I am enjoying watching new people come into the RHWB fold where my journey started with the day Coach decided to harness the young ones into a running group in my living room, it was akin to watching the sun light up a forest on a cold fall day. We named in RHWB (bit of creativity) and the rest is history.
As we march to the 1000 member mark, I wish everyone best wishes and I am excited to see old running records being smashed and new ones created by genuinely enthusiastic runners.
